Xin teaches on Thursdays and Fridays.
Xin, originally from Fujian Province in China, began his piano studies at age five. From 2008-2012, he studied in the School of Music at Fujian Normal University, and was awarded first place in piano major. From 2013-2016, He studied with Dr. Jonathan Korth at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, where he was enrolled in the Master of Music program. He is currently pursuing Doctoral Degree in Piano performance at the University of Minnesota School of Music. Xin is a prizewinner in numerous piano competitions in Asia, including the first Chinese Piano Art Festival (Singapore), 2nd place in MTNA State Young Artist Competition and the National College Piano Competition (Xiamen, China). He was honored to be named the winner of the UH Music Department’s Student Concerto Competition, and having a successful performance with University of Hawaii symphony orchestra in Neal S. Blaisdell Center.
Xin Lin taught students playing piano since his freshman in China, most of students were young kids. He had been teaching these kids at most for 5 years until he studied aboard. When he was pursuing his Master degree in Hawaii, he taught a lot of private lessons from age 5 to 50, some of them attended the MTNA competitions and got excellent place, especially two brothers (ages 5 and 8) won the first place in their level.
