Joseph Trucano (b. 1989) is a St. Paul based performer, producer and creator dedicated to giving voice to all music. Currently, Joe works as a producer for Minnesota Public Radio/American Public Media's nationally broadcast Pipedreams program, is the curator and artistic director of MPR's Pop Up Classical series, serves as assistant organist at Central Presbyterian Church in downtown St. Paul and, in addition to this, has served as an adjudicator for Classical MPR’s Minnesota Varsity Competition, researched and developed a new aural skills curriculum for Concordia College, produced concerts and theatrical chamber works throughout the U.S., performed live as a soloist on Classical MPR and is an active performer, collaborator and composer within the Twin Cities and internationally. Local engagements have included appearances with the Schubert Club, Classical MPR, The Minneapolis Fringe Festival, VocalPoint Chorus, Borealis Dance Company and the Twin Cities American Guild of Organists.
Joe holds a Master's of Music Degree in Performance & Literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where he was the recipient of the James B. Cochran award for excellence in performance. Prior to that, he attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where he studied organ, cello and piano and was the first student in Concordia's history to be awarded the prestigious Senior Honors award and orchestral appearance on two instruments (cello and organ).
